  • Knows the structure and properties of medium and high-power engines and generators used in the energy and heavy industry
  • Possesses knowledge of the operation of electric generators in conventional, wind, biomass and nuclear power plants, as well as medium and high power electric motors used in various industries.
  • Possesses knowledge of modern online monitoring and diagnostic systems (including those using digital twins) that enable extending the service life, reducing failure rates and improving the operational safety of electric motors and generators
  • Employees of plants operating medium and high-power electric motors (e.g. mining, metallurgy, power plants, chemical industry)
  • Employees of companies producing electrical machines and systems: security, work monitoring and diagnostics (including online diagnostics)
  • Employees of power companies, power plants, combined heat and power plants, wind farms and biomass plants
  • Specialists dealing with the transformation of the Polish power system

By requirements

  • Basics of electrical engineering.
  • Elementary knowledge of electromagnetism, thermodynamics and mechanics.
  • Knowledge of the basics of power grid operation.

1. Definition and classification of electric motors and generators used in the power industry
2. General structure of electric machines
3. Electric machine and energy conversion system
4. Physical phenomena used to build electric motors and generators
5. Construction, basic models in the form of equivalent circuits for calculating electrical parameters in various operating states, properties of various types of electrical machines used in the power industry (asynchronous and synchronous machines, permanent magnet machines, reluctance machines, DC motors and special machines)
