Identifies different types of sensors
Selects sensors for the appropriate installation
Knows the operating range of sensors and the scaling of the measured quantity in relation to the measurement being made
Determines the influence of the material on the readings from the sensors
Has knowledge of adapting sensors to real measurement systems

Course program

Sensors - basic issues, unification of nomenclature
Determining the proper power supply and process connections
Basic parameters of sensors, acquiring the skills of proper selection
Size ranges, selecting the right housing
Characteristics of the main output signals
Theoretical basis of the principle of operation of proximity sensors:
- induction
- capacitive
- magnetic
Basics of operation of energy emitting sensors, including in particular:
- Optical sensors and selection problems, artificial lighting issues
- Optical gates, safety curtains (security categories)
- Diffuse sensors, reflective sensors, laser sensors
- Properties of optical fibers as a transmission medium
Temperature and pressure sensor and monitor applications
Selecting the right media flow sensor, basic types of flow meters used in industrial applications
Proper selection of ultrasonic sensors, radar probes and bulk material control
Applications requiring rotation angle encoders, incremental and absolute encoders in terms of high rotational speeds and position memory

The two-day training program includes practical exercises relating to each issue, aimed at increasing the effectiveness of acquiring theoretical knowledge.

Laboratory equipment

Training is conducted in the modern INDUSTRIAL SENSOR LABORATORY, where participants have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with and commission industrial sensors and monitors from various manufacturers. Our wide range of automation equipment allows for individual work on theoretical problems, so each participant can independently connect and commission:

inductive sensors,
capacitive,
magnetic,
optical,
flow monitors,
temperature,
the presence of liquid and gaseous media,
color sensors

and many others found in our workshop. Thanks to this approach, participants reach many conclusions independently and, together with the trainer, translate their acquired knowledge into practical skills.
