Training objectives

After completing the training, the participant:
  • Knows the structure and operation of pneumatic and electropneumatic control systems
  • Possesses knowledge of the design (synthesis) of these systems and simulation software intended for the analysis of pneumatic and electropneumatic control systems, including intuitive and algorithmic methods
  • Applies pneumatic logic in the construction of control systems using Boolean algebra, including: construction of Karnaugh tables, simplification of logical expressions, relating developed logical expressions to practical applications, in particular to the construction of real systems

The training is intended for technical and engineering staff involved in the operation of pneumatic and electropneumatic devices, as well as designers, constructors and technologists, as well as those interested in acquiring advanced knowledge in the field of pneumatic and electropneumatic system design.

The optimal composition is a team working within a single unit (including a manager, technical staff, and engineers). This training structure allows for understanding employee limitations and knowledge gaps and assessing any potential discrepancies in expectations between management and lower-level employees.

The stations have a unique design, the only one in the country, allowing for exercises at various levels of advancement. Their equipment includes::
  • actuators: single- and double-acting actuators, rodless linear actuators, grippers, multi-position shuttle tables with end-position damping, standardized multi-position actuators
  • 3/2, 5/2, 5/3 type spool valves (manually, mechanically, pneumatically activated)

ULTRASONIC LEAK DETECTOR

During training, we also demonstrate how to use a leak detector in pneumatic systems. Our tool is the Leakshooter – an ultrasonic leak detector with a built-in camera.

It allows for the detection of leaks in any pressurized gas. It is also suitable for negative pressure (vacuum) systems. The camera allows for precise location of the leak thanks to a color-changing indicator. A photo can be taken at the leak location and then downloaded to a computer for further use.

What do practical exercises in pneumatics training involve?

The basic industrial pneumatics course provides not only valuable knowledge about pneumatic systems, actuators, and system configurations. Each session culminates in practical exercises using assembly stations. This allows students to consolidate theoretical knowledge while acquiring new, valuable practical skills.

Special assembly stations allow participants to thoroughly analyze the structure and operation of pneumatic systems. Upon completion of the training, each participant will have a thorough understanding of how to develop real-world systems, how to modify real-world models to achieve the intended system performance, and how to identify and troubleshoot problems in pneumatic systems.

Practical exercises during the pneumatics course also involve access to real industrial pneumatic components and specialized simulation software. Participants complete tasks individually or in small groups. Their efforts are always monitored by the instructor, who is always available to provide assistance or information.


What equipment do modern industrial pneumatics and electropneumatics laboratory stations offer?

Each pneumatics and electropneumatics course divides the lessons into theoretical and practical sections. Practical exercises can only be effective and bring the desired results if conducted in appropriate conditions. Larger training centers have their own laboratory facilities equipped with specialized assembly stations.

Each station is designed to allow the trainee to easily complete practical exercises. Participants also have access to cross-sections of pneumatic components and individual computer stations equipped with simulation software and current product catalogs. It's beneficial for training rooms to accommodate pneumatic components from the most popular manufacturers. This way, trainees can build the necessary resources to work with the same equipment in their future work.

Industrial pneumatics stations are organized in such a way that they can be used by people with different levels of advancement.


How many people are in groups for training in the basics of creating pneumatic systems?

It's impossible to determine the exact number of participants for each course. The training center has no control over how many students will register for a specific course on a given date.

A reputable training center ensures that groups participating in pneumatics training are not too crowded; this is usually limited to 10 people.

Anyone who has participated in a technical course knows how important the instructor's attention and commitment are. With a large group, it would be impossible to demonstrate equal interest in all participants. Limiting the number of participants for each training session is also necessary for logistical reasons: each participant must have free access to a fully equipped training station. Otherwise, the effectiveness of the practical sessions is significantly reduced.

The size of groups for closed training sessions is agreed individually with the client.


What certificate will I receive after the pneumatic systems design training?

Obtaining a certificate isn't a goal in itself, but it's highly valuable for every student. A document issued by a training center confirms participation in the course and attests to the skills acquired during the course. It typically comes in two copies—one in English and one in Polish—so it can be used abroad. The certificate should include the student's name, the name, date, and location of the course, and the training center's stamp.

A certificate obtained after training in pneumatics or industrial electropneumatics contains a detailed course syllabus. This provides potential employers with reliable and specific information about the recruit's professional competencies. It's also worth remembering that the more reliable the training center, the greater the prestige of the certificate. Always check whether the company implements a Quality Management System that complies with the relevant standards. One of the most trusted certification bodies is TÜV Nord.


Is electropneumatic control difficult to learn?

The level of difficulty of the course depends on the participant's current knowledge and skills. Only undertake the pneumatic systems design and simulation training if you are confident in your knowledge of the fundamentals of industrial pneumatics and electropneumatics. This will facilitate the understanding of the topics covered during the training.

The course on the design and simulation of pneumatic and electropneumatic systems covers three important thematic blocks: the structure and operation of control systems, methods of system design and implementation in simulation software analyzing control systems, and the application of logic in the construction of control systems.

The effectiveness of a course also depends on the level and quality of training. If students have access to specialized knowledge in the pneumatics industry and are given the opportunity to verify their acquired knowledge in practice, learning electropneumatic control will be much faster and easier.

Do pneumatic courses teach how to read pneumatic diagrams?

One of the goals of the Basic Industrial Pneumatics training is to teach participants how to read diagrams of pneumatic control systems. On the first day of the course, the instructor introduces participants to the symbols used to graphically represent pneumatic components and teaches them the basic principles of diagram reading. Students then apply their acquired knowledge in practice, using diagrams they also create themselves to develop real-world systems.

Each participant who demonstrates commitment and willingness to learn will complete the training with the ability to read pneumatic diagrams and the knowledge to apply them to a real system.


Can an online pneumatics course be as effective as traditional pneumatics training?

Self-study is important and valuable, but it should never be separated from practical experience. An online course—in the case of industrial pneumatics—cannot teach the expected skills and, therefore, will not prepare us for working with real-world pneumatic systems.

During traditional pneumatics training, we are provided with all necessary training materials and have the opportunity to work in a specialized laboratory, at individual stations, and with specialized simulation software. At every stage of the course, we can also benefit from the invaluable knowledge of the instructor, who not only shares his experience but also answers students' questions and concerns. Such interaction is rarely possible during online courses.

It's not a mistake to pursue industrial pneumatics knowledge on your own. However, self-study should be considered preparation and a prelude to a proper course – conducted in appropriate conditions, under the supervision of a trained professional, and consolidating the knowledge acquired during the course.
