Training objectives

After completing the training, the participant:
  • Can configure Profinet network settings in the KUKA robot controller and define digital and group signals for data exchange with the PLC
  • Can define and map binary and group signals in a WorkVisual project, enabling bidirectional data exchange
  • Configures the KUKA robot to operate in external control mode (EXT) and knows the CELL.SRC file
  • Creates a project in the TIA Portal environment and imports the KUKA robot's GSDML files
  • Creates a functional program in the PLC controller to start the robot and select the program in automatic mode
  • Can configure a background task (SUBMIT INTERPRETER) in the robot to continuously transfer selected parameters between the robot and the PLC controller

We conduct training at our Industrial Robots Laboratory in Gliwice. We provide students with four production robots:

Hardware and software used

KUKA KR6 R900 SIXX robot from the KR AGILUS series
The robot is equipped with a KRC4 Compact controller and a SmartPad control panel. This small, lightweight (52 kg) robot, thanks to its compact dimensions, is suitable for a wide range of applications. It can be floor-, wall-, or ceiling-mounted. Thanks to its slim design, the KR 6 robot operates even in the smallest of spaces. The Safe Robot function facilitates effective human-machine collaboration. It excels in handling tasks, especially pick-and-place, with high speeds, enabling excellent results with minimal cycle times.
KUKA R700 SIXX AGILUS KRC4 robot
The solution is used in production processes based on gluing, packaging, welding and conveying. The robotic station is equipped with:
  • HMI operator panel,
  • Siemens S7-1200 controller,
  • ProfiNET network modules allowing for quick expansion of the system.

The KUKA Basic Industrial Robot Programming Course is designed for anyone looking to enhance their job opportunities by significantly improving their qualifications.
